The development of this study intends to reflect all the aspects learned in the practices during 7th and 8th semesters as a teacher trainee at the Benemérita and Centenaria Escuela Normal del Estado. The research was carried out in a secondary school. Through the application of a diagnostic test it was detected the opportunity to find the main problem in the group of study was the low level of English in the students. Taking this problem as a basis, the use of strategies to expose students to everyday vocabulary was deduced as a purpose. This study was carried based on action research with a group of 42 students, applying readings and audio activities to obtain communicative activities. The use of vocabulary was applied throughout the class through different didactic sequences, although it had greater emphasis on the presentation of each class. The results obtained were that the vocabulary was presented through flashcards for the students, it was effective because students carried out the activities proposed in the classes. The material used helped to carry out the activities. It was concluded that the presentation of the vocabulary was more effective in the practice and production stages because the students had more use of the learned vocabulary. The proposed objective of this document was not achieved because the students did not obtain the necessary vocabulary to reach communication.en_US
